Job Description

• Prepare written text describing the operation, maintenance, calibration and/or repair of Welding and Assembly systems and related equipment.
• Construct and/or edit 2D(line) and 3D(solid) illustrations from native CAD models, ”.jt” files, photographs, and other equipment supplier references.
• Prepare Spare Parts Lists from mechanical and controls bills-of-material (BOMs), OEM catalog references, and other published data sources.
• Develop, edit and maintain various industrial placards (ECPL, Lubrication, Maintenance, etc.,) single point / one point lessons, work instructions, job aids
• Create illustrations, charts, graphs, slides, etc., using Microsoft PowerPoint to support Sales, Engineering, Estimating and Training proposals and presentations
• Develop project “Buy-Off” manuals: prepare content-specific check sheets, inspection reports, OEM equipment signoff statements and other customer defined templates
• Shoot, enhance and edit digital photographs of Valiant equipment and products
• Edit raw digital video files rendering them as 30fps “still frame” animations for use in engineering reports

Job Requirements

• A college degree in English, communication arts, illustration, digital publishing, graphic design, language arts or technical writing is strongly preferred.
• Equivalent experience in the practical maintenance of manufacturing equipment and/or industrial controls may be considered.
• Experience in automotive industry with a focus on welding and assembly equipment (tooling) with increasing responsibilities, including leadership roles is highly preferred. 
• 3-5 years of publication / illustration experience.
• Development of Operator and/or Skilled Trades training material.
• Proficient in MS Office 2010 applications, Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Photoshop, etc.)Adobe Premiere Elements
• Proficient in the use of AutoCAD (2D)
• Familiarity with manufacturing process of suppliers and customers (welding, riveting, structural joining, etc.) is helpful
• Work with subject matter experts who will provide knowledge transfer to enable appropriate course content and lab scenarios with functional results
• Strong organizational skills, note taking, writing and verbal skills
• Ability to work independently, and handle stress in a fast paced, multi-task oriented atmosphere
