Job Description

  • Test and examine, through the use of statistically valid methodologies, parts, materials, assemblies, models, layups etc., and other sub-contracted services at all stages of manufacture to ensure conformance to drawings and other specifications.
  • Examine parts, materials and assemblies visually for surface defects, finish and completeness.
  • Verify dimensional accuracy of product using assorted measuring equipment such as micrometers, calibers, vernier height gauges, and co-ordinate measuring machines using PC-DMIS Software.
  • Maintain calibration records for inspection tools and equipment and calibrate or cause to be calibrated inspection and measuring tools for Company and employee owned tools. Maintain records in Gagetrak 6.7 software.
  • Inform plant management when a product fails 
  • Prepare written reports indicating results of product inspection and maintain a log of defects and percentage of rejects for management review when required.
  • To be familiar with techniques and procedures such as FEMA, Capability Studies and understanding GD&T that are utilized in-house or by Valiant Customers.
  • Become totally familiar with customer's specifications and procedures; maintain necessary documents.
  • Schedule in process and final tool buyoff. Work with Customer QA throughout tool buy off.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

 

  • Completed high school diploma with additional college training, preferably a completed apprenticeship in Tool / Mold Making or related trades.

 

  • Two (2) to five (5) years of work experience directly related to Quality Assurance Control.

 

  • Familiarity with computer systems use on co-ordinate measuring machines (PC-DMIS 2017, PowerPoint, MS Word 2013, Excel 2013, Gagetrak 6.7, Catia V5, Log Tag)

 

  • Good written and oral communication skills

 

  • Ability to work well in a "Team-Based" Working environment.

 

  • Experience in Aerospace industry is an asset
