Job Description

To ensure that established Quality Control Standards, Procedures and Practices are consistently applied to inspecting and evaluating of received components, sub-assemblies and commodities. Ensure conformance of product with respect to fit, form & function

Inspect purchased parts, materials and assemblies for conformance to specifications, examine items for defects in materials, craftsmanship and damage due to transit.

Verify proper part quantities, part numbers and identification and detail orientation (shn/opp), part coating (paint) or surface treatments, surface finish, overall craftsmanship and part completeness

Verify welded fabrications based on welding requirements and quality acceptance criteria

Inspect and measures items for dimensional accuracy, fit, form and function according to prints, manuals or specifications using assorted measuring equipment  based on quality inspection criteria

Approve or reject items, records inspection and disposition information utilizing the NCR system and established internal procedures

Work with quality and manufacturing to resolve non-conforming or defective part issues

Work with team to establish inspection criteria based on procurement equipment categories

Maintain quarantine area and document disposition of all the non-conforming material and obsolete parts

Track suppliers placed on containment, verify their product and document their progress

Verify if any shipped material includes an approved print deviation, notify appropriate personnel

Other duties as assigned by Quality Management

Job Requirements

Experienced Toolmaker, Millwright of Machinist; or equivalent experience

Background in build to print environments

Five to ten (5-10) years of work experience directly related to tool making in a custom machine, tooling industry

Familiarity of computer systems, working knowledge of computer applications

Knowledge of precision measuring instruments and devices and measurement tools

Knowledge in print reading, GD&T, special processes, print notes

Knowledge of weld callouts and weld quality, machining best practices

Good written and oral communication skills

Ability to work well in a Team-Based working environment
