Job Description

Electrical Discharge Machine (EDM) operator and programmer will be responsible Ram EDM & Wire. Ram EDM sinks the shape that is on the electrode part way into the workpiece. The common types of electrode materials used are graphite (for ease of machining and wear ability) and copper tungsten (for fine finish requirements). Knowledge of Surfacing electrodes with the proper runoff for all EDM functions

Responsibilities:

  • Program, set up, and operate RAM EDM machine with Electrode ATC tool changer for efficient unattended machine operation

 

  • Knowledge of off-line programming Lemoine software for extracting Electrodes surfaces and machining the electrodes with best practice on Makino CNC / Fadal CNC

 

  • Perform routine machine maintenance

 

  • Ability to read and comprehend moderately complex instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

 

  • Ability to communicate with supervisors and other employees of the organization.

 

  • PC operation and file manipulation

 

  • Background in machining High Speed Steel, and Graphite to make Electrode’s for the EDM Sinkers

 

  • Maintain a clean work area

 

  • Perform daily machine maintenance

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or an apprenticeship as Machinist / Mold Maker

 

  • 6 + Years’ experience preferred

 

  • Experience with Double Head ONA EDM and Xermac EDM machines

 

  • Proficient in the use of basic measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.

 

  • Proficient in blue print reading.

 

  • Ability to work well in a "Team-Based" Working environment.
