Job Description

To manage and provide the technical expertise, direction and leadership concerning all Die Engineering, design, build and service facets related to the Valiant Machine & Tool Inc. programs, projects and orders.
To support the direction, motivation and development of skills and competencies within the business unit as they relate to the project management function. To contribute to and support productivity, growth and high morale within the organization while exercising leadership ability in a team oriented atmosphere.
To interface with the design, program management and manufacturing staffs at all divisions or subsidiaries, customers, vendors and other personnel, as required completing, successfully, the assigned project.


Review the received orders, ensuring a compliance with the customer specifications and the Valiant Machine & Tool Inc. proposals; Serve as the internal and external focal point and liaison on all job issues related to providing the necessary customer information to the design and manufacturing departments, inclusive of obtaining the design layout approvals and the communication with customer; Research, compile and distribute all relevant project information to the engineering department or the manufacturing department, as applicable; Schedule, lead and otherwise facilitate the design and manufacturing line-up meetings so as to ensure a successful launch of the program, to the specifications of the customer’s purchase order and subsequent and agreed to instructions and requirements; Co-ordinate with the Leadership on the Team Member assignment relative to design and manufacturing (machining, assembly tryout and run off); Track all customer concerns and open issues internally, ensuring the resolution of concerns to the satisfaction of the customer, subject to cost and delivery constraints; Record information effecting any change, additional charges or delivery schedules; Inform affected Team Members in the proposal, sales and finance of price changes and order amendments via the correct correspondence methodology; Arrange timely customer visits to the Valiant Machine & Tool Inc. for job progress and final buy-off meetings, ensuring that Sales Team Members attend these meetings whenever possible; In conjunction with Purchasing, follow up on commercial components, ensuring on time supplier delivery; In conjunction with Purchasing, follow up on manufactured components from supporting divisions, ensuring on time delivery; Provide technical advice to the proposal and estimating department, as required; Attend proposal review meetings, as required; Manage all up front S.E. activates with Customer, Stamping Partner and Valiant/TMS project Vertical Integration team. Manage and coordinate all design review with Customer, Stamping Partner and Valiant/TMS project team. Manage and coordinate all timing requirements for the stamping dies to successfully maintain all build events on Valiant/TMS or the customer assembly line build location. Manage and coordinate all sheet metal coordination with Stamping Supplier and Valiant/TMS through all the quality build events. International travel will be required to review design, build and follow up at Stamping Suppliers facility.
Manage and coordinate all stamping tooling buy off at stamping suppliers facility with the customer; and Perform other Leadership-assigned duties.

Job Requirements

A completed post-secondary education in technical or engineering studies; A minimum of five (15) years of design and/or production related experience in the stamping die tooling systems and press die automation systems. A minimum (5) years of experience in Class “A” Stamping Die Design and Forming Simulation Requirements. Experience in design and build of dies for light weight material (eg. Aluminium, Magnesium) Proven leadership ability; A demonstrated job-related aggressiveness and enthusiasm while being able to analyze the overall effects of decisions under pressure; A proven ability to exercise tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers; Exceptional organizational and management abilities; Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication abilities; and The ability to work with others in a team atmosphere.
